Delta's Petri Noponen, who run the fourth leg of his team, had the opportunity to read aloud the Jukola Relay's message.
This year, message of the Jukola Relay greeted the 100-year old Finnish Olympic Committee. The target of the message was selected in autumn 2007. Thus, it was a pure co-incidence that a few months later the Olympic Committee chose to protect the Jukola Relay.
The message of the Jukola Relay was received by the secretary general of the Finnish Olympic Committee Jouko Purontakanen.
