In the beginning of the second leg it seemed that the Swedish teams will hold on to their leading positions. IFK Lindingö and OK Hällen who started for the second leg in the lead position also came in the lead to the intermediate controls at 2,7km and 5,3 km. But after that, the Finns started their rising towards the lead in the rainy woods.
At 7,7km the first team to punch was Juha-Matti Huhtanen from Vaajakosken Terä closely followed by Aleksi Leskinen from Lynx. Lidingö and Hällen had fallen to the positions 6 and 7 almost two minutes behind the lead.
Thereafter, hard struggle was again going on for the lead positions in the woods and the forking worked effectively. One of the Finnish teams was Delta with Janne Heikka running the second leg. Surprisingly, however, at 11,0km the first to reach the intermediate control was Aaro Asikainen from Kalevan Rasti 2. After one minute Vaajakosken Terä and Lynx arrived to the control. Asikainen surprised even himself; he kept the leading position until the changeover and sent Hannu-Pekka Pukema for the third leg. The second to come to the changeover was Delta and as the third came Lynx.

Huhtanen from Vaajakosken Terä started for the second leg as 16th team almost 4 minutes behind the lead. Thus, he made a great rise towards the lead, but had to slightly give up back to the 14th position more than 2.30 minutes behind the lead.
The length of the second leg was 12,2-12,3km and the estimated time was 77 minutes. This time was clearly surpassed. The second leg was run in a rainy weather and in quite dark circumstances.
